IBMYP/DP Mandarin Language Teacher

This position involves teaching IB MYP Mandarin B part-time in the secondary school. Your objective is to motivate each student to develop competencies, knowledge and skills in all areas of the subjects taught. Your course load is targeted at approximately 40% of available teaching time in a week. The remaining 60% of your role will be as an Educational Assistant

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • experience in—and commitment to—working in an inclusion-model framework
  • ideally, three or more years experience teaching culturally- and linguistically-diverse populations
  • knowledge of international school pedagogy and curricula including the IBMYP and the IBDP
  • at least a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate field, together with relevant teaching certification

School Receptionist

NATURE OF WORK
The School Receptionist is the first person of call for visitors to the school, parents, staff, and students. As the face of the school the Receptionist should be welcoming, helpful, able to multitask, work flexibly and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner. The receptionist is also required to assist the office with various administrative tasks, requiring a good level of IT skills.
The School Receptionist will have primary day-to-day responsibility for welcoming, responding to telephone and email enquiries. Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information. Assisting with all admissions related tasks including to maintain and update school information, records, and databases. Assisting in receiving, sorting, and distributing all packages, deliveries, and mail. Assisting in delivering and translating of the Morning Bulletin, Medee publication and other school notices, posters to the school communities.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fluency in both Mongolian and English
  • Years of experience working with people from different backgrounds and nationalities
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, in person, telephone and written
  • Good level of computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Willingness to develop self and skills

Facilities Manager


NATURE OF WORK:
The Facilities Manager shall assist the Director and Deputy Director with the organization, operation and administration of the non-instructional school program. Within the limits of established policy, he/she shall make decisions involving the grounds and maintenance personnel and drivers/vehicles belonging to, or in the service of, the International School of Ulaanbaatar (ISU). His/her primary responsibilities shall involve ensuring the safety, maintenance and development of all school facilities, and all transportation systems (at a high, international standard) at ISU. Position Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree required (specialization in engineering preferred, but not necessary)
  2. FMA designation or equivalent strongly desired
  3. Minimum of three to five years of prior experience in facilities administration and management (prior experience of construction projects preferred)
  4. Demonstrated history of meeting international standards in facilities maintenance
  5. Ability to work in, and manage, a team in a firm but fair, manner
  6. Prior experience of working in a multicultural environment is strongly desired
  7. Written and spoken fluency in English and Mongolian required

Educational Assistant


NATURE OF WORK:
The role of the Educational Assistant is essentially to assist the Teacher in the delivery of the school’s IB programmes within the classroom, supporting activities within and outside the classroom to ensure that students are safe and happy, learning in a positive and nurturing environment. The scope of this work will be in a secondary school.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Teaching Diploma degree as well as teaching permit;
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children;
  • Teaching experience;
  • Fluency in English and in Mongolian;
  • Ability to use computer programs;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

Relief Teachers

The International School of Ulaanbaatar is always interested in receiving applications for relief teaching (also known as substitute teaching) from qualified, certified teachers who are already resident in Ulaanbaatar. This role is not available to applicants who do not already live here in the city.

The ISU relief teacher assumes the responsibility of the classroom teacher on an as-needed basis. As well as requiring appropriate qualifications, we prefer relief teachers with prior teaching experience.
