2526 ISU Academic Merit Scholarship Announcement

The International School of Ulaanbaatar (ISU) invites academically outstanding Mongolian students to apply for a scholarship-supported admission to Grade 10 for the 2025-2026 academic year. This scholarship offers a unique opportunity for students who demonstrate the potential to meet the rigorous requirements of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.


ISU is seeking applications from globally-minded Mongolian students who:

• Excel academically in their current studies at a Mongolian state or independent school;
• Possess strong research and problem-solving skills;
• Communicate effectively in English and at least one other language;
• Show confidence in approaching new challenges;
• Uphold integrity, honesty, and a strong sense of fairness;
• Demonstrate empathy and a commitment to community service;
• Respect diverse cultures, values, and perspectives;
• Engage in thoughtful reflection about their own learning.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Students currently attending a school with an annual tuition fee exceeding 10,000,000 MNT are not eligible for this scholarship.

• Covers 100% of tuition fees and 78% of the Capital Fee each year;
• Awarded for three years (Grades 10-12), with annual renewal based on academic performance.

Applicants must be eligible to enter Grade 10 at ISU in August 2025 based on age and prior schooling.



Applicants must submit the following:

• Letter of Application – Demonstrating commitment to the selection criteria, including out-of-school interests and activities; 
• Application Form – Including three reference letters (at least one from a teacher) supporting the applicant’s qualifications;
• Academic Records – Copies of school report cards and transcripts for the past two years, along with an enrollment statement covering the past 12 months;
• Proof of Financial Need – To be provided later in the process upon request.

Screening/Testing: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for assessments in March 2025
Interviews: Finalist interviews will take place between April 14-25, 2025
