Language A

Language A is academically rigourous and equips students with linguistic, analytical and communicative skills that can be used in an interdisciplinary manner across all subject groups. MYP Language A builds on experiences in language acquisition from the PYP and extends into the DP where students become increasingly proficient and confident in the use of the language. Developed through the study of both language and literature, Language A strives to promote both critical and creative thinking skills, which are essential for reflection, learning, self-expression and social interaction.

MYP Language A assessment criteria:

  • Criterion A: Content (receptive and productive)
