Humanities
Humanities is the teaching of history, geography, economics, politics, and psychology and plays a unique role in the development of respect for different values, beliefs, cultures and ideas. Our aim at ISU is to use Humanities to promote self-awareness, empathy and a knowledge and understanding of the world’s people and places. The technical, analytical, decision-making and investigative skills required in MYP humanities also serve as a foundation to the skills and methodologies required in the various subjects in group three of the Diploma programme.
In MYP Humanities students are assessed in four areas:
- Criterion A: Knowing And Understanding
- Criterion B: Investigating
- Criterion C: Thinking critically
- Criterion D: Communicating
