Arts
In the MYP program at ISU, students have the opportunities to become familiar with and participate in both visual and performing arts. The arts at ISU are not only an excellent opportunity for students to explore and express themselves, they are also crucial for developing creative thinking and problem solving skills that will serve our students far beyond their years at ISU. Our aim is to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the arts by encouraging involvement in the process of making art and using various art forms to communicate ideas creatively.
In Grades 6-8 all students will have Drama, Music and Art. In Grades 9 and 10 all students will have Art which gives them an excellent foundation for the Visual Arts course offered in the Diploma Programme.
In MYP Arts students are assessed in four criteria: Criterion
- Criterion A: Knowledge and understanding
- Criterion B: Application
- Criterion C: Evaluation
- Criterion D: Personal engagement
